GEM Real Estate adds Rotterdam Botlek site to development portfolio

June 20, 2025

Logistics developer GEM Real Estate has acquired the site at Nieuwesluisweg 192 in Rotterdam-Botlek. The site comprises 24,415 m² of land with approximately 10,000 m² of existing building.

The existing property, built in the 1990s, is currently leased for another two years. After that period, GEM plans to redevelop the site into a highly sustainable and state-of-the-art logistics warehouse. The location is situated in the Botlek area of Rotterdam, one of the most important logistics and industrial zones in the Netherlands and even in Europe. With its strategic location, excellent infrastructure, and strong industrial presence, the site at Nieuwesluisweg 192 offers exceptional opportunities for future redevelopment.

This acquisition represents a significant milestone for GEM, not least due to its long-standing activities in the Port of Rotterdam and its excellent relationship with the Port of Rotterdam Authority. It is also an important step in the strategy of GEM to invest in logistics growth areas and thereby create sustainable value.

GEM Real Estate was commercially advised by De Mik Real Estate Partners, technically supported by C2N, and legally assisted by Loyens & Loeff. The seller was assisted by ARC Real Estate, legally by Greenberg Traurig and commercially advised by BRiQ Real Estate.
